What I did last year.

The last thing I remembered was celebrating Christmas yesterday and poof, January is already coming to an end. Where is time rushing to? Before life goes by any faster, I got myself to stop and think if I had anything worth to tell my future offsprings.

  1. I graduated school with a diploma.
  2. And started my uni life 3 months after.
  3. Started drinking coffee.
  4. Worked at Malaysia Fashion Week.
  5. And saw Jimmy Choo almost everyday that week till it became a norm.
  6. Found closure of a lost friendship after a year.
  7. Sprained my ankle – I had to wear sneakers for Christmas, how fancy.
  8. Went on an overnight fishing trip on my birthday – I got seasick (and we almost died).
  9. Because I got forced to drink 5 tequila shots the night before.
  10. Got my hair permed.
  11. Started a digital magazine.
  12. but did not publish anymore after the first one. Boo.
  13. Conquered my 3rd Disneyland. All I’m left is to travel to the States.
  14. Made new friends.
  15. Got invited to another Social night.
  16. And decided to attend it for the first time, ever.
  17. Went rock climbing.
  18. Painted one side of my room wall bluish grey.
  19. Stepped into a club for the first and last time.
  20. Learnt how to use the washing machine.

Hmm, not too shabby for my 20th year on earth. *pats myself on the shoulder. Let’s see how thrilling my roller coaster ride would be like this year.

twenty sixteen: A Revival .

I am very apologetic, more towards myself, that I was not able to upkeep this page. It would be lie to say, “I could not remember where I placed my ink” as it was more of a “my ink hardened” situation.  Not going to lie, school has been taxing (and it has only been my first semester, oh gosh, save me) and I took every spare time as a date with my bed.

This year, however, I made up my mind that, I am going to keep this going. It shall be my new year resolution. No, scratch that because, let’s be honest, I have never succeeded in doing any of my new year resolutions any neither have the majority of us out there.

It shall be my new year resolution.

It is going to be my fruit that I am going to harvest after the rain.

The day a dream came true.

A close friend of mine said to me one day, “Let’s create a magazine. You have always wanted to, right?”

That’s the start of an amazing accomplishment. This digital magazine may not be the best out there, but we can promise it will just get better every issue. Publishing it every season, we hope to bring something different, something that isn’t like all other magazines.

Feel free to join the crazy ride with us as we continue to explore and find ourselves in the issues ahead. Thank you for all the support. It is very much appreciated.

My summer-y winter list

(Beanie and skirt from Factorie, Top from thrift shop, Shoes from Zalora)

Here comes the less summer-y season.

The days where I get to take out my beanie and leather jacket to see the world again are here. I find myself snuggling under the covers very often on my off days. And if I’m willing to get out of my cozy duvet, a cup of hot chocolate (with tiny marshmallows, of course) would be perfect. But just as I think I can get use to hearing the rain knocking on my window, the big star intervenes and steals the spotlight. It brings us back to reality of our geographical location.

The start of this season is also a reminder. A yellow post-it that the year is coming to an end and a new start is closing in. And the time where realisation strikes that, I’m growing older. “Start doing what you love and let nothing hold you back. Do it while you’re young so as to not have regrets” says almost everyone older than me. And so, step by step I’ll take, step by step I’ll make it.

Singapore Art Book Fair 2014

Hustling in and bustling out, little giants spilled through.

Spread across the room they did, exactly how a wildfire would.

Wow, was my first thought. To see many locals appreciating,

Such a heartwarming scene that these artists are creating.

image_12 Surrounded by something that enticed me

I decided not to hold a grudge.

For it was the books I bought (and could not afford),

that had my heartstrings tugged. image_13 image_14 image_15 image_16 image_17 image_18 Lucky me got sandwiched between artists

that were talented enough to be stars.

They are known to so many that

their stardoms stretches all the way to Mars.   image_9 During intervals I chatted up with them,

to get to know more about them and their works.

Clearly it took them courage to take that first step

or they might have just ended up being boring old clerks.

image_10 (Love print, editors from Dubai.)

I am especially fortunate to have sat beside Delere Press,

an online publication that writes amazing stuff.

I got many good advices from two amazing artists

that I could use to sharpen my craft. image_11

   (Delere Press, Singapore.)

From nicely illustrated books to pretty postcards

to well written books to ones about fashion,

I bought them all. Why, you shall ask

because all them books caught my attention. Processed with VSCOcam with a5 preset So my first two days of intern was not as bad as I expected,

because without these two days I would not have found back my spark.

I hope with all I have seen and heard,

would I actually then take a leap of faith and find my voice (inserts exclamation mark). image_20
